SERDANG, August 22, 2019 - UPM has won five gold, four silver and four bronze medals in the Invention, Innovation & Design on e-Learning (IIDEL), International University Carnival on E-Learning (IUCEL) organized by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in collaboration with Malaysia Centre for e-Learning (MyCeL) and the Malaysian e-Learning Council for Public Universities (MEIPTA - Majlis Ketua-ketua Penyelaras e-Pembelajaran IPTA) at the Banquet Hall, DeTAR Putra, UNIMAS.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurfadhlina Mohd Sharef, Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology has won one gold, one silver and one bronze at the IUCEL 2019. The gold medal was won through the project: Junior Data Scientist e-Portfolio Development through Challenge Based Learning Approach in Data Mining Course. The silver medal was won through the project: Revolutionizing Learning Environment with Artificial Intelligence and bronze medal through the project: Education Analytics in UPM Smart Campus. Also winning one gold and one silver was the Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Human Ecology, Dr. Hj. Ahmad Nasir Mohd Yusoff. The gold medal is won through the project: Penglibatan Aktif Pelajar & Penambahbaikan Kualiti Pengajaran dalam Bilik Kuliah Menerusi Teknologi QR Code and Aktiviti Gamifikasi Berasaskan Kuiz ‘Online’ & ‘Offline’ with UPM Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Human Ecology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adlina Abd Halim, Dr. Arfah Ab. Majid, Dr. Normala Othman, Nashrina Samir and Cyberjaya High School teacher, Mrs. Noralina Ali. The silver medal was won through the project: Pembangunan ‘Boards Games Explorer’ PUTRA GLOBAL-T4-IMIC-GAME (PT4) Menggunakan Augmented Reality dan Gamifikasi untuk Kursus Wajib Universiti. Another Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Chong Chou Min also won the gold medal at IUCEL 2019. The gold medal was won through the GamUDLearn project: Integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Gamification in Blended Learning with Dr. Zarirah Mohamed Zulperi (Faculty of Agriculture), Dr. Hasliza Abu Hassim (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Mrs. Chong Leong (Faculty of Forestry), Dr. Mohd Redzwan Sabran (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), Dr. Lai Kok Song (Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences), Dr. Mohd Noor Hisham Mohd Nadzir (Faculty of Science), Dr. Mohd Hazwan Mohd Puad (Faculty of Educational Studies), Prof. Dr. Muta Harah Zakaria and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurfadhlina Mohd Sharef (Center for Academic Development). The gold medal was also won by Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus Senior Lecturer, Dr. Nurdiyana Ahmad Denil. The gold medal was won through the project: Innovative Pedagogy by using Knowledge Clips to Enhance Student Learning Experience with En. Johan Ismail (Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus), Dr. Rozihan Mohamed (Faculty of Agriculture), Dr. Sheena Bidin (Faculty of Forestry), Dr. Ahmad Nasir Mohd Yusoff (Faculty of Human Ecology), Dr. Yusmadi Yah Jusoh (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology), Mrs. Nur Eliza Abdul Rahman (Centre for the Advancement of Language Competence) and Audrey Grace anak Intai, student of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus. Mr. Johan Bin Ismail, Senior Lecturer of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus also won a gold medal during IUCEL 2019 through the project: Design and Development of Prototype Mobile Application Integrated with Augmented Reality to Enhance Student Learning Experience. The gold medal was with Dr. Nurdiyana Ahmad Denil and Dr. Shiamala Devi Ramaiya (Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus), Dr. Rozihan Mohamed (Faculty of Agriculture), Dr. Sheena Bidin (Faculty of Forestry), Dr. Ahmad Nasir Mohd Yusoff (Faculty of Human Ecology) and Dr. Yusmadi Yah Jusoh (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology).

Two silver medals were won by LAr. Owen Yeo Thian Seng, Senior Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (project: Gamification Approach in Teaching Precision Agriculture) and Dr. Shiamala Devi Ramaiya, Senior Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (project: Immersive Learning through Role Playing in Biology Education for Promoting Sustainability). Three bronze medals were won by Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Nur Izah Ab Razak (project: A New Approach using Augmented Reality Visualization to Improve Teaching & Learning of the Anatomy & Physiology of Cardiac Cycle), Senior Lecturer in Computer Science and Information Technology (project: A Cross-device and Cross-platform Virtual Reality Learning (ViReL) Space to Promote Immersive Learning Experiences) and Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Khadijah Mohd Nor (BodyTravelApp project: An Interactive Ear Anatomy Virtual Reality (VR) Mobile Application for Medical Students). Also participating in IUCEL 2019 is Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Rozihan Mohamed (iARPA project: An Interactive Augmented Reality Book for Teaching and Learning of Principles of Aquaculture Course) and student of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Muhammad Shuhaily Mohd Jasmany (project: AR - My Endangered Species).
